Collection of Masana cardboard perforated discs

Perforated cardboard discs were popularly known as aristons. The device that reproduced the sound (a sort of street organ, for home use) was called Ariston by its inventor, Paul Ehrlich.

Cardboard perforated sound discs

37 sound discs, mostly ballable music: polka, mazurka, waltz, etc. Some of these ballables are fragments of zarzuelas and operas, very popular in the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries

Origin: Donation of José Masana Tardá, that included an Ariston player, of the year 1886
