Jacint Verdaguer i Santaló (Folgueroles, 1845-Barcelona, 1902). A poet and clergyman, he left an intellectual legacy essential to Catalan literature and he became one of the key figures in modern literature. Among his works include Canigó, L'Atlàntida, Excursions i viatges, etc.
The Institut d'Estudis Catalans (Institute of Catalan Studies) acquired his collection in 1908 for the Institute's own library which is now the Biblioteca de Catalunya. The Arxiu Històric de la Ciutat de Barcelona (Historical Archive ot the City of Barcelona) also holds documentation.
