Einstein, Albert, 1879-1955

(Updated 08/10/2024)

Born in Ulm, in the German province of Wurttemberg, Albert Einstein is considered the most important scientists of the twentieth century, thanks to the publication of his "General Theory of Relativity" in 1915. Not only did he reformulate the theory of gravity that had been accepted until then, but his research reinvented the study of cosmology. Einstein left Germany when the Nazis came to power and settled in Princeton (New Jersey) until his death in 1955. He received the Nobel Prize for Physics in 1921.
