Churchill, Winston, Sir, 1874-1965

Sir Winston Leonard Spencer-Churchill (Woodstock, 1874- Londres, 1965).

Va ser un polític, militar i escriptor britànic, primer ministre del Regne Unit durant la Segona Guerra Mundial, entre 1940 i 1945, amb un segon mandat de 1951 a 1955. Amb formació com a oficial de l'Exèrcit Britànic, va ser un destacat home d'estat amb una notable oratòria, historiador, pintor i cronista. És l'únic primer ministre guardonat amb el Premi Nobel de Literatura, el 1953.
