Joaquim Ruyra i Oms (Girona, 1858- Barcelona, 1939) was a Catalan poet and writer. He studied Law in the Catalan capital but never practised it because he devoted himself instead to fiction and poetry. He published various texts in Catalan and contributed to newspapers such as La Renaixensa. His literary collection is small, but is considered of to be of exceptional quality. For this reason, the Institut d’Estudis Catalans (Institute of Catalan Studies) created the Joaquim Ruyra award in honour of him and his work. Of his works, Pinya de rosa (1920), stands out. The location of his personal papers is not known.
