Miralles Montserrat, Joan , 1945 –

Joan Miralles Montserrat (Mallorca, 1945 -). Doctor in Catalan Philology with a thesis book; Un llibre de cort reial mallorquí del segle XIV. Introducció, transcripció i estudi lingüístic . (Wich won Honours Studies, University of Barcelona, 1978). Professor at the University of the Balearic Islands since 1983.

He has worked with magazines such as "Luke," "Mayurqa", "Randa", etc, especially issues dealing with history of language, folklore, names and local history. Was awarded the 2016 Ramon Llull in the linguistic field.

He has published studies on subjects such as History of the Catalan language, Catalan Historical Grammar, Onomastic, popular culture, popular literature, oral history, etc;Onomàstica i literatura (1996), Corpus d’antropònims mallorquins del segle XIV (1997), Història i cultura popular (1998), Discursos per la llengua (1999), Entorn de la història de la llengua (2001), Estudis d'Onomàstica (2003).
