Carreras i Candi, Francesc, 1862-1937

Francesc Carreras i Candi (Barcelona, 1862- Barcelona, 1937) He was a Catalan politic and historian. In 1989 he was member of the Academy of Fine Arts in Barcelona, where he was president twice.

He is the author of moret han four hundred that published in news papers such as: Notas históricas de Sarriá (1897), Lo castell de la Roca del Vallès (1895), Dietari de la guerra a Cervera (1907), Orígenes de la enfiteusis en Barcelona durante los siglos xi y xii (1909), La Via Layetana (1913), La Creu Coberta (1919) o Les drassanes barcelonines, sos inventaris i restauració (1928), among others. He promoted  the publication of documentary sources in Barcelona with his work.
