Joan Vila-Grau, or Joan Vila i Grau, (Barcelona, 1932). Painter, glassworker and ceramicist. Son and student of the painter Antoni Vila Arrufat, he started professionally in the world of painting after he left his studies in architecture. He specialised in making glasswork for churches and religious buildings, such as the Temple Expiatori of the Sagrada Familia. He was a member of the Ars Sacra group until 1974, as well as the Reial Acadèmia Catalana de Belles Arts de Sant Jordi (Saint George Catalan Royal Academy of Fine Arts) and the Reial Acadèmia de Ciències i Arts de Barcelona (Barcelona Royal Academy for Arts and Science). He founded the magazine Qüestions d’art and contributed to other publications. In 2010, the Generalitat of Catalonia awarded him the Creu de Sant Jordi (Saint George's Cross).
