Opisso, Alfredo, 1847-1924

Alfred Opisso i Cardona (Barcelona, 1907- Mataró, 1980). Born into a family of artists, Alfredo Opisso was an illustrator and painter. In 1921, thanks to the help of the critic Jean Merlí, he held his first exhibition in his hometown of Barcelona. In 1944, he was awarded at the Biennial of Barcelona, and he later won the Ynglada-Guillot national award for drawing.
He exhibited in Madrid and his work is displayed in the Museum of Modern Art in Barcelona, as well as museums in Figueres and Valls.
