Joan García Junceda i Supervia (Barcelona, 1881- Blanes, 1948) is considered one of the most important cartoonists of the first half of the twentieth century. He was self-taught and his first drawing was published in the magazine, ¡Cu-Cut! on 24 December 1902 under the pseudonym Ribera. He was a recognised illustrator and in 2003 the Associació Professional d'Il·lustradors de Catalunya created the Junceda awards in honour of his artistic work.
