Grau i Sala, Emili, 1911-1975

Emili Grau i Sala (Barcelona, 1911-1975) was a Catalan painter and graphic designer linked to the School of Paris. He is considered mainly self-taught, although he studied at the School of Fine Arts. In 1930, he had his first exhibition. After the Civil War, he went into exile and settled in Paris, where he became familiar with the avant-garde movements. He also worked for the publishing industry and illustrated works such as Madame Bovary and Les Fleurs du mal. He had exhibitions in numerous cities around the world, from Barcelona to New York.
