Anglada, Lola, 1892-1984

Dolors Anglada i Sarriera (Barcelona, 1892-Tiana, 1984) is known as Lola Anglada. Writer and illustrator. Considered one of the most important artists of the pre-war era. Her most famous character is El més petit de tots.
She trained at the Escola de Llotja and, shortly after completing her studies, she was able to organise her first exhibition at Sala Parés in Barcelona. In 1918, she travelled to Paris where she met several publishers. In 1981, she was awarded the Creu de Sant Jordi (Saint George's Cross).
Some of her works are at the Museu Nacional d'Art de Catalunya and the Museu d'Història de Barcelona. Her collection of dolls is in the Museu Romàntic Can Llopis de Sitges. Part of her collection is in the Biblioteca de Catalunya and the Arxiu Fotogràfic de Barcelona (Photographic Archive of Barcelona).
