Rosenthal, David, 1945-

David H. Rosenthal (Nova York, 1945-1992) was a jewish north american poet, essayist and translator.

He reached to Barcelona in the 70’s and he was interested a lot in the literature and language from Catalonia. His work has centred in translations from Catalan language to English, works from the Catalan literature such as Tirant lo Blanc, La plaça del diamant (The time of the doves) and Solitud (Solitude).

By the year 2008 it published Banderes al vent! la Barcelona de les utopies, 1914-1936, his posthumous work that treats the Barcelona of interwar. In 1988 he received the Creu de Sant Jordi.

The legacy of David H. Rosenthal has been donated to the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona.
