Pujols, Francesc, 1882-1962

(Updated 08/10/2024)

Francesc Pujols i Morgades (Barcelona, 1882- Martorell, 1962) was a Catalan writer and philosopher. He also began his career as an art critic, becoming one of the first advocates of the architect Antoni Gaudí. In 1906 he published his only work, a comedy called El Nuevo Pascual o Prostitución. Pujols' philosophy influenced the work of Dalí, who dedicated his painting, Cel Hiparxiològic, and erected a monument in his honour in Figueres.
