Porcel, Baltasar, 1937-2009

With a vast output of literature, Baltasar Porcel i Pujol (Andratx, 1937-Barcelona, 2009) was a Balearic writer, journalist and critic. His works, translated into several languages, are from many different genres. He worked on the magazines, Serra d’Or and Destino, and from the eighties onwards he worked as a columnist for La Vanguardia. Porcel is considered one of the most important authors of the second half of the twentieth century and was decorated with numerous awards. Some of his novels are: Les pomes d’or (1980), Els dies immortals (1984) o El cor del senglar (2000).
