Collection of Masana cardboard perforated discs
Perforated cardboard discs were popularly known as aristons. The device that reproduced the sound (a sort of street organ, for home use) was called Ariston by its inventor, Paul Ehrlich.
37 sound discs, mostly ballable music: polka, mazurka, waltz, etc. Some of these ballables are fragments of zarzuelas and operas, very popular in the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries
