Acquisitions policy

The Biblioteca de Catalunya is the national library, and its mission is to collect, preserve, and disseminate Catalan bibliographic production and works related to the Catalan linguistic sphere, as well as bibliographic works found in Catalonia that have relevant historical or cultural value, and pertinent acquisitions, in order to maintain its role as a center for consultation and scientific research of a universal nature.

The acquisition policy defines the criteria and procedures for selecting new materials, ensuring the quality, variety, and accessibility of resources. You can refer to the library's acquisition policy to understand how new additions are decided and how you can suggest new acquisitions.

You can also:

Make donations: Following the acquisition policy, the library accepts documents and makes them accessible to users through its catalog.

Adopt a document: This will help restore it to good condition and extend its lifespan.
