Ramon de Capmany i de Montaner (Canet de Mar, 1899-Barcelona, 1992). Painter and engraver. Trained at the Escola de Llotja in Barcelona, where he studied as a pupil of the painter, Francesc Labarta. He was a member of the group known as els Evolucionistes and the Sala Parés group, where his works were often exhibited. The theme of landscape is the most prominent in his works, influenced by naturalism and characterised by attention to detail and fine lines. He also worked as printmaker and illustrator for special editions. In 1926, he won the New York Travelling Exhibition prize.
