Ismael Balanyà i Moix (Montblanc, 1921-2000), graphic designer and painter, born into a family of painters. He trained at the Escola Massana, where he taught from 1965. Travelling to Paris during the forties, he took on influences from the international avant-garde movements. Many public buildings in Montblanc hold murals by this painter. He is known as Montblanc's favourite son.
