Marçal Olivar i Daydí (Barcelona, 1900- Barcelona, 1994) catalan philologist and art historian. He studied philosophy and letters at the Universitat de Barcelona, between 1927 and 1928 enlarged his studies at the University of Berlin. He collaborated in various collections such as Els nostres clàssics or Fundació Bernat Metge, and he was an art teacher at the Escola d'Arts Aplicades i Oficis Artístics de Barcelona. In 1986 he received the Creu de Sant Jordi.
